At Workhorse, we have members from all parts of their career journey, each bringing their own magic to our community. This month, we’re spotlighting Josiah Carver, a creative entrepreneur who’s bringing his know-how to local small businesses.
Keep reading to learn about Josiah’s journey from piano teacher to digital content strategist, his love of music, and what keeps him coming back to Workhorse.

Can you tell us a bit about your work? What do you do, and what do you love about it?
I’m a growth partner for digital content and marketing. I integrate into businesses and brands that lack the time, talent, and team to make strategic content happen—and I create it for them. What I love most is coming alongside other business owners and being a step in their journey toward achieving their dreams.
It’s collaborative work. I’m not here to be the star; I’m here to support the vision and make it real. It’s super satisfying to help businesses tell their story in a way that resonates and converts.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What are your interests and hobbies? What’s a fun fact?
I have two kids—a three-year-old and a one-year-old—so our house is joyfully chaotic and loud (the name of my business, Joyhouse, mirrors that energy). When I’m not working or hanging with my family, you’ll find me serving as music director at my church or just playing music in general.
Here’s a fun fact: Joyhouse Creative is my second business. Before I became obsessed with digital content, I was a piano teacher. Music has been a constant thread through my life, and it probably always will be. The skills transfer in unexpected ways—both teaching piano and content strategy require you to break things down into digestible pieces and meet people where they are.
What drew you to Workhorse? What’s your favorite thing about it? What problems does it help you solve?
I was drawn to Workhorse for two big reasons: the community and the location. There are plenty of coworking spaces out there, but Workhorse has something different. Being in Edmonds, by the water, with a size and layout that naturally encourage friendships and deeper connections, matters to me. It feels like more than desks and WiFi; it feels like intentional design for community.
My favorite thing is coming into Workhorse on my dedicated “get it done” days. I’m able to focus, accomplish a lot, and the free-flowing coffee certainly doesn’t hurt. The energy in this space really does make work flow better.
I’ve been super grateful to build new connections through Workhorse, and I’ve found myself falling more and more in love with Edmonds as a city. It’s becoming home in a way I didn’t expect.
Workhorse Members Create Community
Josiah has a rare combination of being genuinely focused on his work while still being warm and approachable. You’ll catch him at his desk, headphones on during deep work sessions, but he’s always ready for a conversation. He brings that same energy of balancing hustle with heart that defines so much of what Workhorse is about.
If you see him around, say hello. Better yet, if your business needs some serious content strategy work, Josiah’s your guy. And if you want to talk music, even better—he’s the kind of member who makes Workhorse feel like a community of people who like each other, and at the end of the day, that’s what we’ve been working so hard to build.
