3 Fun Edmonds Date Ideas

3 Fun Edmonds Date Ideas

Jul 29, 2026

Whether you live within the city limits or come over just to visit, it’s well-known that Edmonds is a great place to date. And we want to be clear about who you can date in Edmonds. It doesn’t have to be your lover, per se. It can be your bestie, your favorite kid, or your mom. Shiiii, you can even date your dog in Edmonds, but that’s an article for another day.

Keep reading to get our recommendations for three fun date ideas in Edmonds (and bookmark it if you need to come back later).

Date Idea 1: Start with an activity

If it works for men and babies, it works for dates. Parallel play is a great way to enjoy each other’s company without the pressure of staring into someone else’s eyes. Catch a movie at The Edmonds Theater (pssst, we wrote you a full-blown itinerary here) and remember: they make their popcorn with coconut oil and they now serve beer and wine. Winning!

Or get more hands-on right up the block at Glazed and Amazed as you paint your pottery. Unfortunately, they throw their clay pieces before you arrive, so no Ghost moments for you.

And remember, you don’t have to spend any money to enjoy a beautiful and/or romantic evening. Stroll arm-in-arm along Sunset, up and down the beach, or to the end of the pier. Window-shop through Downtown. Pop into galleries—if you date on a Summer Wine Walk night, you’ll find Downtown Edmonds absolutely abuzz with energy, and you don’t have to opt in to the drinking part to enjoy it.

Date Idea 2: Pair dinner with drinks

Use our dinner or happy hour guides to pick a restaurant that sounds fun to you (pro tip: Charcoal—PNW American—and Calypso—Caribbean—are both great, and the two closest restaurants to Workhorse if you’re a member trying to balance work and life, e.g. keeping your dates super close to home).

We’re big fans of progressive dinners through Downtown Edmonds, so we love the idea of having dinner at one place and then a nightcap somewhere else. If we were planning your date (and, let’s face it, we kinda are), we’d stop for a nightcap at:

Date Idea 3: End with dessert and watch the ferries

Nothing says love like a sweet treat, and we like to take ours with a side of ferry views. For late-night ice cream closest to the ferry docks, hit up Snoqualmie Ice Cream, which opened up right by the marina.

You could also go old school and pop into longtime local institutions Arnie’s or Anthony’s right on the waterfront to share a plate of something delicious. Both have great views of the boats. If we know anything, we know ferry boat conversation makes for easy ice breaking. But, you’re past that part already, aren’t you?

If you’re enjoying a day date, CommonGrounds at the Edmonds Waterfront Center gives you options: You can take your ice cream to go on a sunny day and get cozy on one of the many benches along the waterfront, OR you can sit inside and watch from the windows. Either choice is great, and somewhat weather-dependent. We love the lower pressure of a day date. Plus, any opportunity to take advantage of an afternoon ice cream is a good thing in our book.

Looking for a place to celebrate in Edmonds?

If your dates get to a point where you need a space to celebrate a big milestone (an engagement, a baby, etc.), we aren’t just a wealth of local information—we’re an event space, too! Head to our events page, tell us a little about you and what you’re celebrating, and we’ll bring you in for a tour. We’ll even hand you a free drink when we meet you.

We are so excited for your dates in Edmonds. It’s our sincere mission to be a community that inspires your productivity while also setting you up for success beyond our walls. Our seaside location is inspiring to us in so many ways, and especially in all the ways that inspire warm and fuzzy feelings. So, go out! Be safe! Have fun! We can’t wait to hear all about it come Monday morning (or whenever).
