The 7 Best Workout Classes in Edmonds

Jan 28, 2026

Looking for great workout classes in Edmonds? You’re in luck! This guide covers everything from high-intensity training to mind-body connection, and lots in between.

Our waterfront town has an impressive range of group fitness options for every fitness level. And there’s a reason group fitness classes are so popular—research shows that people who participate in group exercise see significant reductions in stress and improvements in mental, physical, and emotional well-being compared to those who exercise alone.

From downtown studios within walking distance of the ferry to community centers offering affordable classes, Edmonds’ fitness scene has been quietly growing into something special. At Workhorse, we believe in working hard and taking care of yourself—and we’re surrounded by some of the best workout classes in Edmonds. Most of the spots on this list are just a short walk from our coworking space, making it easy to squeeze in a sweat session before settling in for focused work (or vice versa).

Ready to find your new favorite way to move? Let’s dive in.

List quick hits:

  2. Edmonds Waterfront Center
  3. Frances Anderson Center
  4. Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Where to Find the Best Workout Classes in Edmonds

Barre3 Edmonds

barre3 Edmonds Studio

Right in the heart of downtown Edmonds at Hazel Miller Plaza, barre3 creates workouts that meet you exactly where you are. Their signature class blends strength training, cardio, and mindfulness into a low-impact, high-efficiency format that works for everyone—whether you’re brand new to fitness or you’ve been at it for years.

Plus, barre3 is super adaptable. Instructors guide you through isometric moves and cardio bursts while encouraging you to define success for yourself. Looking for something more restorative? Their b3 Mindful Flow class focuses on joint mobility, flexibility, and restorative stretching—perfect for recovery days or when you need to slow down and breathe.

The studio provides all the props you need, and the atmosphere is genuinely welcoming. Plus, here’s a perk Workhorse members love: we have a reciprocal membership with barre3! Just mention Workhorse when you call, email, or stop by, and you’ll get 5 free classes for being a Workhorse member (but take note: this deal applies to Hot Desk members and above).

Edmonds Waterfront Center

Line Dancing at Edmonds Waterfront Center

The Edmonds Waterfront Center is much more than a senior center (though it does offer fantastic programs for active seniors). It’s a community hub with over 85 programs, including a solid lineup of group fitness classes for all ages and fitness levels.

You’ll find everything from Enhanced Fitness and Soft Exercise classes to Parkinson’s Movement and Dance, Tai Chi, and meditation. They also host Jazzercise classes that combine dance cardio with strength training for a full-body workout. The best part? These classes are incredibly affordable and welcoming to newcomers.

The Waterfront Center sits right on the water (obviously), just blocks from Workhorse and near CommonGrounds Coffee—so you can grab a post-workout treat or coffee while enjoying the view. If you’re looking for workout classes in Edmonds that don’t require a huge financial commitment, this is your spot.

Frances Anderson Center

Fitness Room at Frances Anderson Center

Supported by the City of Edmonds, the Frances Anderson Center has been serving the community for years with a range of recreational programs, fitness classes, and open gym access. Their fitness classes include yoga, aerobics, and dance (including line dancing!).

What’s cool about the Frances Anderson Center is its variety. You can drop in for open gym time to shoot hoops or play pickleball, take a fitness class, or even let your kids burn off energy in their indoor playspace while you work out. It’s very much a community gathering place where families, athletes, and everyone in between can find something that works for them.

Classes are affordable (drop-in fees start around $4-6), and they offer punch passes if you plan to come regularly. Check their website or give them a call to see the current class schedule—offerings change seasonally.

Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu

If you’ve ever been curious about martial arts, Gracie Barra is one of the most trusted names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—and they have a fantastic location right in downtown Edmonds. In fact, they’re in the same building as barre3 on 5th Ave S, which means you could literally flow through a barre class one day and learn submission techniques the next.

Gracie Barra offers classes for all ages and skill levels in a safe, family-friendly studio. Whether you’re a complete beginner or working toward your black belt, their instructors (including black belts) create a supportive atmosphere where you can challenge yourself physically and mentally.

Beyond the physical benefits—strength, flexibility, cardio—Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu builds confidence, discipline, and community. They offer adult programs, kids classes, and women’s self-defense courses. Plus, as part of a network of 800+ Gracie Barra schools worldwide, you’re learning from a proven system with deep roots.

Harbor Square Athletic Club

Class at Harbor Square Athletic Club

Harbor Square is Edmonds’ premier full-service athletic club, and if you’re looking for variety, this is where you’ll find it. Recently acquired by the Bay Club Company (after 40 years under previous ownership), Harbor Square boasts a fitness center, full gymnasium, indoor pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts (plus pickleball!), and over 100 weekly group fitness classes.

Their class offerings span everything from yoga and mind-body studio sessions to cycling and high-energy group fitness. The facilities are beautiful—pretty locker rooms with dry and steam saunas, massage therapy services, and even childcare if you need it.

What we love about Harbor Square is it’s community-focused (the team donates over $10,000 annually to local programs), and they’re right next door to 212 Med Spa, which we highlighted in our relaxation and recharge guide. You could easily plan a wellness day: workout at Harbor Square, then head next door for red light therapy or cold plunge.

Twist Yoga

Smiling people sitting in a circle during class at Twist Yoga

When you walk into Twist Yoga’s light-filled studio on 5th Ave S, you immediately feel the calm. This is a space where you can truly connect mind, body, and community.

Twist offers a bunch of yoga styles to fit your mood and needs: Vinyasa for flowing movement, Hatha for foundational poses, Yin for deep stretching, and gentle or restorative classes when you need to slow down. They’re also flexible in how you practice—Twist has in-person classes, online sessions, and private 1-on-1 instruction. They sometimes even host outdoor classes on the roof of the library!

Their philosophy—”Calm Mind, Healthy Body, Find Your People”—says it all. Twist embraces the 8 Limbed Path of yoga, which means you’re getting more than a workout. You’re gaining tools for flexibility, strength, tension relief, and building genuine connections with others on the same journey.

We mentioned Twist in our places to relax and recharge in Edmonds blog, and we stand by it: this studio is a real gem for anyone looking for balance in their work and life.

Need a Place to Work Before (or After) Your Workout?

Most of Edmonds workout classes are within walking distance of each other—and of Workhorse. Whether you’re an early riser who wants to hit a 6 a.m. yoga class before diving into emails, or someone who needs a midday movement break to clear your head, building fitness into your workday has never been easier.

At Workhorse, we’ve designed our space for people who work hard and live intentionally. That means recognizing that productivity isn’t just about hours at a desk—it’s about taking care of your body and mind so you can do your best work. Our downtown Edmonds location puts you steps away from barre3, Gracie Barra, Twist Yoga, Harbor Square, and more.

Imagine this: You start your morning with a coffee at CommonGrounds (mentioned in our ice cream guide—yes, they also have great coffee), settle into a hot desk at Workhorse for a few focused hours, break for a lunchtime Pilates class at Woodway Wellness, then return to finish your day feeling energized instead of drained.

That’s the beauty of coworking in a community like Edmonds. You’re not stuck in a home office or isolated in a skyscraper. You’re part of a thriving downtown where movement, wellness, and productivity coexist naturally.

Curious about how Workhorse fits into your routine? Check out our Workhorse 101 membership guide or explore why coworking might be the missing piece in your work-life balance puzzle.

Reciprocal Deals Around Town

One of the perks of being part of the Workhorse community is that we’ve partnered with local businesses to make wellness even more accessible. Right now, we have a reciprocal deal with both Barre3 Edmonds—one month free at Workhorse for Barre3 Edmonds members, and 5 free classes at Barre3 for Workhorse members.

We’re continuing to build out this program, and we’re super excited about it. It’s our way of supporting the interconnected wellness and work community we’re building in downtown Edmonds.

These partnerships matter because they triple underline our values: work hard, take care of yourself, support local businesses, and build genuine relationships. Fitness and productivity aren’t separate goals—they fuel each other.

Want to learn more about all the membership options at Workhorse? We’d love to show you around and talk about how our space (and our partnerships) can support you.
