At Workhorse, we have seriously cool members. This month, we’re highlighting a member who just started a company based in Cyprus. Intrigued? Keep reading to get to know Edmonds local, Michael Glaros.

Can you tell us a bit about your work? What do you do, and what do you love about it?

I am the Co-founder of Artemis Industries, where we harness the transformative power of technology and human potential to revolutionize industries. We specialize in empowering small and medium businesses with tailored AI solutions, fostering innovation through impactful collaborations, and cultivating the next generation of tech leaders. What we love most is seeing our AI solutions unlock new opportunities for growth and innovation, driving a brighter, more inclusive future.

We have two major lines of business that serve our target markets in Cyprus and the Philippines. Our SaaS-based Generative AI applications help businesses get timely and accurate answers to their compliance questions. Additionally, we offer consulting services ranging from facilitated innovation workshops, training, and hackathons to help our partners generate impactful, secure, and accurate AI solutions that generate true business value.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What are your interests and hobbies? What’s a fun fact?

I am part of the Hellenic diaspora, with my family originating from islands in the Aegean and eastern Mediterranean Sea, between Greece and Turkey. Since the 1920s, many Greeks, including my grandparents, have left their ancestral homes in Cyprus, Greece, and Turkey to seek security and prosperity in countries like the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK. Despite the initial hope of returning home, historical events such as the Great Depression, World War II, and the invasion of Cyprus in 1974 have made this difficult.

With over a decade of experience as a program manager at Microsoft and roles at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Outerwall, and Deloitte, I am passionate about using my skills to contribute to the economic development of Cyprus. In my free time, I enjoy music, the sea, hiking, and learning about different cultures. A fun fact about me is that I love cooking traditional Greek dishes and sharing them with friends and family.

What drew you to Workhorse? What’s your favorite thing about it? What problems does it help you solve?

What drew me to Workhorse was the need for a professional and convenient workspace. Living in a multi-generational household in Edmonds, I don’t have access to a home office with a proper desk, printer/scanner setup, or private rooms for phone calls. Additionally, with Cyprus being ten hours ahead of Edmonds, I often have to take calls with colleagues and prospective clients at odd times, which can disturb my family.

Workhorse provides the perfect solution by offering a well-equipped, quiet, and private environment where I can work efficiently without bothering or being bothered by my family. My favorite thing about Workhorse is the flexibility and convenience it offers, allowing me to focus on my work and take calls at any time without any disruptions.

Anything else you want to add?

One additional thing I’d like to mention is the incredible support and warm welcome I received from Whitney and the management team at Workhorse. They were always ready to assist and helped me settle in quickly, making the transition smooth and stress-free. Their dedication and responsiveness have made a significant difference in my work experience, allowing me to focus on my tasks without any worries.

Thank you, Michael, for adding so much value and depth to our community. We’re eager for your return from your latest trip and hope to have you host a lunch & learn soon! Stay tuned.
