We’re back with another member spotlight, this time highlighting a longtime Hot Desk member, Karl Koehler, COO of Easy Metrics. This series showcases the impressive members of our community doing important work inside—and outside—of Workhorse.
Can you tell us a bit about your work? What do you do, and what do you love about it?
I work for Easy Metrics, a cloud-based BI system (SAAS) that helps companies identify and optimize their labor costs, especially labor-intensive operations. I am the COO of the company and I really love collaborating with our clients on how they can gain true value ROI with our platform.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What are your interests and hobbies? What’s a fun fact?
I was born in Oakland, CA, and raised in Broken Arrow, OK. I ran track at Oklahoma State and completed my education at the University of Washington (Oceanography/Mathematics). My wife, two children, and I have lived in the Edmonds area for almost twenty years. Currently, my son is in college playing lacrosse and attending business school (freshmen) and my daughter is attending Edmonds Woodway High School (sophomore).
I spend a lot of time coaching youth sports teams (Basketball, Soccer, and Lacrosse). I also have a big passion for fly fishing!
As for a fun fact, I have been playing drums since 5th grade. I was in the University of Washington Husky band in the ‘90-91 season’s Rose Bowl.
What drew you to Workhorse? What’s your favorite thing about it? What problems does it help you solve?
I found Workhorse when I was looking for a space to work near my residence. At the time, I was also looking for an option for my son to do his school work during Covid. Between my friends’ kids and mine, we eventually had six teenagers at Workhorse for one school year. Yeah…lol.
My Workhorse membership offers me the ability to work in an environment away from home. I can focus on my vital tasks at work, not watching ESPN or working on laundry… ha!
Workhorse has a variety of customers that are in very cool industries. I have REALLY learned a lot just by listening and sharing experiences with others. It’s very collaborative here and I love the culture.
