Member Spotlight: Zoe

Oct 1, 2024

This month’s member spotlight is all about one of our hardest-working pups, Zoe! Get to know our favorite mixed-breed Maltipoo, a fixture in the space who loves her fluffy dog bed and doing tricks for treats.

Can you tell us a bit about your work? What do you do, and what do you love about it?

I am an adorable mixed-breed Maltipoo, and I bring my dad Brian Reyes to Workhorse every day. As a Lead UX (User eXperience) designer, he draws boxes until it looks like software, and works with engineers, product managers, and users to build beautiful, usable software. Most importantly, he gives me treats in between meetings. He loves the psychology of design, and the multidisciplinary nature that design entails.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What are your interests and hobbies? What’s a fun fact?

Brian loves whiskey, hikes, and long walks on the Edmonds dog beach (with me). He has an impressive collection of Brooklyn Nets hats (they have his initial and favorite sport). Coincidentally, he also has worked for New York-based companies the past three years (first at biotech/robotics company Opentrons, and currently at fintech company WireScreen).

What drew you to Workhorse? What’s your favorite thing about it? What problems does it help you solve?

Workhorse has a fun atmosphere, fast WiFi, fun staff, and above all, free dog treats. We like the farmhouse aesthetic, the kombucha, and the endless supply of coffee. It allows us to be around other fun humans since otherwise we’d be alone at home (which would translate to fewer pets and back scratches).

Anything else you want to add?

If you see me at Workhorse I may act a little shy, but my dad knows I love everyone. Especially if there are treats involved. Brian loves talking shop about design. And I love talking about treats.

…did I mention treats?

If you see Zoe and Brian in the space, make sure to say hey. Consider letting her sniff your hand before offering any pets or those aforementioned treats, though.
