A Dedicated Desk member in the main space of Workhorse, Julee Yokoyama has been extremely patient with us as we’ve been under construction this year. A coach and consultant for entrepreneurs, Julee helps business owners manage—and plan for—their today and their tomorrow.

Anyone who gets the term Cover Your Ass is a friend of ours. Head to the kegerators to grab a refill, kick up your feet, and learn more about Julee in our latest Member Spotlight.

Can you tell us a bit about your work?

I’m a small business operations consultant specializing in strategic planning and risk management. Through Project C.Y.A.™ (yes, that’s Cover Your Ass 😉) I help business owners see the big picture and ensure they are doing the right things at the right time for the right purpose and with the right people. I also help them make a plan to protect the future of their business—and life—through succession planning.

What do you love about it?

I love creating a space for my clients to step out of the day-to-day grind to elevate their perspective on where their business is at TODAY and clarify the vision of where they want to go. These can be tough conversations involving BIG questions…but they are essential and often universal questions we all need to be asking ourselves. I am here to make it all as approachable and actionable as possible.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What are your interests and hobbies? What’s a fun fact?

I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I grew up spending summers hanging around my grandfather’s office and looking for ways to monetize ideas with my friends. I went to school for small biz entrepreneurship and project management. I love solving problems and bringing goals into tangible reality.

I also love people, so in my spare time I am connecting with all the people in my life. Coffee chats, dog walks, phone calls, yoga classes…I find opportunities to be in connection with and support those I love.

As for a fun fact: I’m a certified grief yoga teacher and end-of-life doula…yep, that’s a thing.

What drew you to Workhorse? What’s your favorite thing about it? What problems does it help you solve?

I needed to get out of the house! I had been WFH since 2018 and the pandemic broke my extrovert self slowly over time. Within two weeks of working at Workhorse, I decided to create a strong boundary between “work” and “home,” and it has changed my life and even improved my marriage. I love being around other focused and inspired people, connecting and making new relationships, and being of service where I can.

Anything else you want to add?

You may see me with headphones on a lot but don’t let that stop you from saying “Hi.” I would love to chat and learn more about you, friends! 💚
